Installation of a Solar Water Heating System with Autonomous Power Supply in Ashotsk Community Kindergarten, Ashotsk Region
The project is implemented based on the contract signed on 05.04.2016 by “Ferti Charitable Center” NGO (the donor), Ashotsk community administration (the recipient), and Shirak Marzpetaran (the observer). The investment amount is 3.3 million AMD. Ashotsk community contributed to the investment with the amount of 0.3 million AMD.

Goal: to remedy social issues of Ashotsk community. Installation of a solar water heating system (equipped with photovoltaic electric power supply) with autonomous power supply in the kitchen and groups to obtain sanitary hot water in Ashotsk community kindergarten.
Technical description of the system: The solar water heating system has been constructed with dual-loop modality based on a closed independent scheme. Five flat collectors have been used with 10 m2 total surface. For the electric-powered equipment of the system, particularly for power supply of 2 circulating pumps and the microcontroller (setting device), it is envisaged to equip the system with 500W nominal / peak capacity solar photovoltaic panels. More particularly, it uses two 250W photovoltaic panels.

Economic benefits: The reduced energy cost due to the application of RES technologies, enables the kindergarten to save about 20,000 AMD monthly.
Environmental benefits: It is expected to reduce the emitted CO2 greenhouse gases with 1.5 tons annually.
