Thermal modernization of common areas of a multi-apartment building in Pemzashen community, Artik region
The project is implemented based on the contract signed on 29.10.2015 by “Ferti Charitable Center” NGO (the donor), Pemzashen community administration (the recipient), and Shirak Marzpetaran (the observer). The investment amount is 3.3 million AMD. Pemzashen community contributed to the investment with the amount of 2.7 million AMD.
Means of increasing energy-efficiency of the staircase in a multi-apartment building in Pemzashen community
Goal: to remedy social issues of Pemzashen community. Thermal modernization of common areas of a multi-apartment building.
Technical description of the system: Energy efficient windows and doors have been installed in the Pemzashen demonstration building (24 apartments, 92 residents) and porches have been constructed at the entrances. Thermal insulation of the external walls (internal surfaces) has been carried out using foam polystyrene tiles (plasterboard covering). In addition, the thermal insulation of the roof’s garret floor has been carried out by mineral wool insulation. Energy efficient lightening system has been installed in the staircases of the multi-apartment building using LED lamps and motion detectors.
Windows, Doors, and Thermal Insulation Materials Used for the Thermal Modernization of a Multi-Apartment Building in Pemzashen Community
Economic benefits: About 7,500 kWh of thermal energy (140,000 AMD) will be saved annually benefitting 92 residents/beneficiaries of the building 12, street 7, lane 2. There are 23 similar multi-apartment buildings in Pemzashen, which can replicate the same approach for saving energy.
Environmental benefits: It is expected to reduce the emitted CO2 greenhouse gases with 1.5 tons annually.
- Each of the 24 families of the building 12, street 7, lane 2 in Pemzashen annually save about 5 800 AMD.
- Increased level of convenience of the common use areas, improved aesthetic appearance.
